It seduces you with the pleasure of a perfect scheme, laughing along, then turns the knife so precisely you feel the shift in your body before your mind catches up. The comedy was the trap; underneath, every doorway and staircase and smell has been arguing that the system leaves no way up — and the violence, when it comes, is that argument finishing its sentence.
